Google's new ANDROID O

Android Nougat (7.0) is here and the beta version of Android 7.1 is soon going to release. But, the new Android O(8.0) is not too far away. Android Nougat was released in August 2016 and Android O may release at a similar time frame.
Google just announced that Google I/O will be held 17-19 May. It is expected that google will reveal Android O at that time.

What is Google I/O ? you may ask.
Well, traditionally Google uses Google I/O to announce the new update to its Android OS. The 11th annual I/O conference will take place between 17 and 19 May 2017 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
The release date of Android O :
Google surprised us by taking wraps off their Android Nougat in their summer Google I/O conference in 2016. After that in early October they surprised us again by releasing their new devices Google Pixel and Pixel XL. We are looking at a similar time frame (between September and October)  for the release of Android O(8.0).
Lets not forget that Google has always announced their new hardware and software together but the sudden change is most likely due to the fact it is now taking control over both the software and hardware in its own-brand devices in Apple-esque fashion, and the Google Pixel and Pixel XL were the first phones 'Made by Google' (even though they were actually made by HTC, but that is a different story). We can hope that the reveal of Android O and Google Pixel 2 together at Google I/O.
You might ask if your device will get Android O update.  Well, Google's own devices are always the first to get Operating System updates but Google cannot support them forever. Security updates are provided three years after releasing the device and 18 months after it is removed from the Play Store.
Like, Nexus 6P will be supported till September 2017 that means it will get both, Android Nougat and Android O. Nexus 6 will get the Nougat update but not Android O as it is supported till October 2016 and older devices won't get that update.

What will be the new Android O called?
As we all know following Android Alpha and Android Beta,  Google has always named their Android OS versions with sugary treats and with and alphabetical order. So far we've had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat. So they can came up with the names like Oreo, Oatcake, Orange etc. The name Android Oreo is being loved by most of the people.

We have to wait till 17-19 May to see what sweet treat Google is going to give us with Android O. We will post another blog informing about the features of Android O. Keep following our Facebook page and don't miss a single update.
