Android Nougat (7.0) is here and the beta version of Android 7.1 is soon going to release. But, the new Android O(8.0) is not too far away. Android Nougat was released in August 2016 and Android O may release at a similar time frame. Apple's electric car project codenamed "TITAN" is currently undergoing research and development by Apple inc, till date apple has yet to comment about this project.
