As we all know that we are already living in the future and recently Amazon started testing another futuristic service that will change the delivery system we have. 
Remember our ancestors used pigeons and ravens to send letters from one place to another? Yes! that is exactly what Amazon is trying out with their drone delivery system which is known as "Amazon prime air", just they will use drones instead of birds and they will be able to deliver parcels much quicker; if you order something online it takes at least 2 to 3 days to get delivered to your house but with drone delivery system but with drone delivery system that will happen no more.
The world is getting smarter day by day with use of technology and drone delivery will be perfect for a smart city; although, the service is not available yet.In December 2013, the DHL parcel service subsidiary of Deutsche Post AG tested a "micro-drones md4-1000" for delivery of medicine. In the United States initial attempts at commercial use of UAVs (Unmanned Area Vehicle) , such as the Taco-copter company for food delivery, were blocked by FAA regulation. As of 2015, delivering of packages with drones in the United States is not permitted. On the 13th March 2015, in Sheffield, FPS Distribution completed the first commercial delivery using a UAV.
This system will save a huge amount of time. 
Not only it will deliver our letters and parcels but also it will save lives, imagine that you are in an emergency and need of medicine or medical attention and you call for an ambulance but it will take time for the ambulance to arrive so they can send a drone for the first aid treatment. Imagine your pizza you just ordered getting delivered via a drone to your house, which we can expect to happen sooner than we think.
On January 31, 2017, Amazon announced that Amazon Prime Air would make Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport its principal hub with flights beginning in April 2017. With the start of this system, there will be new possibilities for drone technologies and usage of drone services. Unfortunately, with this technology drug smugglers will also get an opportunity for smuggling their cargo.
Lets hope Amazon Prime Air starts soon, so that we can get a whole new experience of living in smart cities.
